About Us

AT CENTRAL FLORIDA MEDIA GROUP — a marketing, advertising, and publishing company — we help our clients become more successful by telling their unique stories across various platforms using effective media strategies. Our expertise includes professional content marketing, native advertising, website redevelopment, search engine optimization, social media management, publicity, blogs, videography, and more. All of that combined helps our clients get noticed by the right audience and thus generate quality leads for their business. We strategically connect our clients with customers who have an interest in their particular product or service. As part of an economy that we live, work, and play in, we delight and enjoy publishing compelling media that keep our businesses growing and our key industries moving forward. Social responsibility is what we’re all about, and as such, we focus on niche publishing for key sectors in-demand, with specific expertise in agriculture, medical services, and business services. Our targeted strategies and inbound marketing management bring about relationships and results— that’s service that goes beyond the conventional sphere of media.

Central Florida Media Group (CFMG) was founded in March 2010 by Nelson Kirkland, the former publisher of the News Chief (Winter Haven, Florida) and the former director of advertising for The Ledger (Lakeland, Florida). With extensive experience in media and marketing, Nelson recognized the need for a firm of choice that would produce lead-generating results for businesses. Thus, Central Florida Media Group was created to fill that need. In its infancy, CFMG began with headquarters at the USF Small Business Incubator based in Winter Haven, Florida. With extensive expertise in the agriculture industry, the firm began a niche consumer publication, Central Florida Ag News, which won the endorsement of the area’s Farm Bureau and was launched in July 2010. Not long after, three medical industry publications were launched in 2011: the Annual Central Florida Physicians Directory and Medical Providers Guide (est., January 2011); the trade-technical publication Central Florida Doctor (est., February 2011); and the consumer magazine Central Florida Health News (est., April 2011). After the establishment of CFMG’s flagship publications, the company successfully started three more magazines: The Blueberry News (est., Fall 2011), Webber International University’s alumni news magazine Webber View (est., September 2011), and The Peach News (est., Spring 2015). These magazines are just a part of the CFMG lead-generating model for growing businesses through targeted media strategies. At its root, CFMG helps companies small and large generate leads through effective marketing. These strategies include niche print advertising, native advertising, social media marketing, website redevelopment, branding or re-branding, blog or e-newsletter management, publicity or press releases, search engine optimization, and more. CFMG is now located in downtown Winter Haven, Florida, with a core staff of four, and a contributing staff of more than 40 professionals, which includes graphic artists, photographers, writers, copy editors, photo editors, web developers, videographers, and much more.
